The Waste and Contaminated Soil Act (Ley 22/2011, de Residuos y suelos contaminados) intends to reduce the impact on the environment that the waste management involves, reducing waste as far as possible, maximising its reuse and valorisation, and the appropriate disposal.
Depuración de Aguas del Mediterráneo, S.L., a Valencian benchmark company in the operation of sewage treatment plants at national level, has launched the Plant for Non-hazardous Waste Treatment “La Vintena” which provides treatment of sewage, cesspit contents, the cleaning water, liquid products deriving from the agri-food industry, etc., and valorisation by means of composting the sewage sludge.
