Award of WWTP Albufera Sur (Valencia)

The joint venture company formed by Sociedad Agricultores de La Vega and Depuración de Aguas del Mediterráneo, has been awarded the contract for operation and maintenance of the WWTP Albufera Sur.

The WWTP Albufera Sur, is located in the town of Almussafes (Valencia), has a design flow of 34,100 m3 per day and serves a population equivalent of 81,898 inhabitants.

The water line is formed by a pretreatment, primary settling, equalization, biological treatment by activated sludge with biological nitrogen removal and chemical phosphorus removal, secondary sedimentation and disinfection.

The mud line has a gravity thickening for primary sludge and biological sludge flotation. Thickened mixed sludge sent to an Anaerobic Digestion, and then dehydrated through centrifuges to proceed for further evacuation.
